Actually it was either a 7/16 or a 3/8th socket fits in there (sideways though)

here is what fits on my car . to get the mickey thomson  15x10 29x12.5  5.5 in   back space on the rims = tires to fit on my cuda.  the spring  relocation kit had to be used . they fit snug and look great . unfortunately i dont have pictures because i had to remove them to do the welding on my car. i have seen cudas and challengers with this same set up with a 4.5  back space but they rub the wheel wells pretty darn bad.

I'd need some detailed pics of that install. Are you sure you don't have a B body rear in that car?
:useless:    I have a stock rear axle, 15x10" rims with 6" of back space and the spring perches relocated.8"  I have to say that if the wheel had .5" less of backspace that it would not fit under the car properly. If the ride height were high enough it would clear but I would not do it. I know a guy who rolled his fender lips because he had slightly less back space than I did. Pics of mine are included above in prior reponces.

I used the offset MP rear spring hangers. If you were to fully compress the rear suspension will the cars inner wheel lip clear the buldge in your tire? IE does the tire fit "under" the car completely?

I like this look a lot.... :2thumbs:  being clueless to relocation kits, how much does the kit allow for the springs to be relocated (in inches)?  In other words, are there some kits that allow 1" while other kits allow 4"+?  :clueless:

How much did those rims cost?  Are those Welds?

There are essentially three spring relocation kits on the market. Mopar makes one that pulls them in .75 per side. Dr Diff makes one that pulls them in 1" per side. Both of these utilize offset brackets and shackles. They also will require moving the springs perches on the axle housing in the corresponding amount, or another popular swap is to use a 68-70 B body rear housing whcih drops in to place on the new spring location. The third kit is the 3" per side pull in which requires cutting in to the frame rail and replacing it with the boxed section that then becomes the front hanger for the leaf spring.

the wheels are weld aluma stars with mickey thomson 15x10x 29   12.50 15 5.5 back space . fronts are 15x7 . they are close 1/2 inch side to side .
i have the weld in kit 3in with the off set hangers . the car will sit 1 in lower  when the engine / trans ect is in . as far as rubbing well unless you minitub or back half the car no matter what you do the big tires will rub one way or another it just depends on how much and where it rubs .  i get a little rubbing on the inside when you go over bumps really hard .

My rear's aren't overly fat but fill it out nicely with no scrubbing... 275/60 BF Goodrich Radial T/A on 15x8" Rallyes. Pretty common set up I think.

Thanks to all who have posted in here....I am taking the beast tomorrow to get a bunch of work done to it and the guy will have a look at the back-end and offer his advise on wheels and how much to put on before having to "modify" anything.  He's a real straight-up type of guy and comes highly recommended by a lot of people....plus he's worked on all my neighbors cars (69 Dart, 69 Hemi Cuda, 68 Hemi Dart clone) so I've gotten to see his work first-hand.  We will most likely go with a 15x8 rim but will talk more about the tire once we get it all figured out.   :2thumbs:
