thinking ahead
« on: July 06, 2011 - 09:50:13 AM »
So, as my interior nears completion, now I'm thinking ahead to engine/trans. After setting  for the last several years I believe all new seals and gaskets are the appropriate thing to do.Along with this, I'm looking to you guys foradvice on possibly other minor upgrades (maybe a not to aggressive cam and lifters).and headers. So, what are your suggestions , (Dougs headers, comp cam and lifters)
Here are the numbers of the engine and trans,  Anyone have any history or knowledge of these?
engine-left bank casting 2780930-340-3        4
right bank  4          6-30-73             1B21I456
it came with an edelbrock ld340 intake and holly 6736-6210carb
trans RK3681862-4661-7029
I know low is out of the trans, maybe a band?   and I'd like to have this rebuilt as well,   Dont think I'll try this myself, but maybe,,,,,
suggestion/recomendations on upgrades and improvements, also headers theat stay above the draglink unlike the crushed in under the link hookers i removed

I would look at a small Lunati VooDoo Hyd cam #302 or 303 comes to mind
the carb & intake should be fine , I do not recognize the carb # though
Dougs headers are good
