Trunk of our Challenger
« on: April 02, 2002 - 08:21:49 PM »
When we got our Challenger, it was in fairly good shape.  However the trunk was awful!!  Totally rusted out including the inner wheel wells.  Below is a before and after shot.  For a do-it-yourself job, we thought it turned out pretty nice.

Well, first we had to cut out all the rust...that's me below doing some of the work.    We then welded a new trunk floor from RPM Restoration parts.  That was the easy part.  The wheel wells and the trunk latch were totally gone, so we had to fabricate parts for them.  We made the parts and welded them in, sanded them down, sealed it  and painted it with trunk spatter paint.

Thanks Dark Horse.  It's definately been a labor of love.  My husband put the website together while we're waiting for the car to come back from the body shop.  As for me, I love to get into it.  I found by using really thick latex gloves, I can get as greasy and dirty as I want and still keep a French manicure.  Best of both worlds!!!  ;D
