Repo ww moldings
« on: July 13, 2011 - 09:45:40 AM »
Sorry mods if I'm posting this in the wrong section.

I have been told that there are 2 manufacturers of the wheel opening moldings for 70-74 barracuda/cuda.I have purchased one set from a vendor, and none of them fit correctly to either the three AMD panels on this car that I am doing,or one of the front fenders which is NOS.It's not the panels, the moldings don't have a sharp turn where they should to follow the body lines to be turning with.
Metro sells them as well as year one,and all the vendors, but you just don't know which ones you are getting, except the obvious,Metro who is one of the two alledged makers.Or are they all Metro???????
Anyway the ones I have will not be used. Thanks

If it's any help I bought mine from Dales Cuda shop at Carlisle one year for a 70 Challenger they fit great. A couple of the screw holes did not line up with what was there but other than that I'm happy with them. I have no idea who makes them?

This I know from the past.

The Challenger re-pop wheel well trim takes a little messaging, but it will fit. The Cuda's trim, I have heard nothing good as of yet. Many people said they couldn't get it to work. This was a couple of years ago, so I don't know if things improved since then or not.    :dunno:

Yeah,I'm not talking about lining up screw holes as there are none, these things don't even fit the sheetmetal closely.I beleive the ones I have are the same as Dales, and year one but I can be wrong.

We have original moldings, and even those don't hug the openings where they make the sharp inward bends.  Just plan on tweaking the moldings a little and putting a few more screws in here and there.

the trick is to start at the top/middle of the wheel opening and start working your way to the edges. Ive heard that they all require some massaging to get them to fit on the cuda
