dual snorkel scoop, anyone?
« on: July 20, 2011 - 07:16:58 AM »
Wondering if anyone has ever tried to use a dual snorkel scoop like those found on some a-bodies on an ebody flat hood?

or would it be too small?

I love that style......and the fiberglass hoods with the 6-pack style, but the hoods dont have the rear vents I want......plus its a lot more $$$$ and hassle.  Just curious...I cant be the only one to ever have this thought cross his synapses, right?  :dunno:

Or am I   :screwy:  ???

There was a Challenger at Carlisle with one...dark green with a flat black scoop. It looked very good.

I thought I had a pic of it but I can't find it.

I need to see that so I can prove to my wife that I aint insane.

She feels I should leave the hood as it is...flat.

Still, I think it would look great......and it seems like an easy install.....no glassing or anything....just cut a hole and drill the mounting holes.....maybe notch the center to work with the raised rid on the fish....?

I have a buddy, that is going to do that with a flat Challenger hood. He found a decent deal on the scoop, and figures he may as well do something with it. I think it would look good, I like that scoop.

It's not a snorkel, but it's different. The car belongs to the guy who's doing all the sheet metal on my Cuda.

For many years I had the pickle-fork style hood scoops from a Super Bee that I was planning on putting on my flat hood. Just sold them before I moved to VA.
