can you use a chip with a tune or is it one or the other

Actually we dyno proved that the $35 180* thermostat adds more power than retuning it

well i got a tune and a 180 stat was thinking of adding a chip but wouldnt it just do what the tune already did,or mess up the car

Educate me guys.

   What will the 180* T-stat do for me, that the one from the factory can't? I don't even know what the stock T-stat is rated at.   :grinno:

I did buy a Diablo tuner, but do I need to change out the T-stat to help more?    :feedback:

i think the stock one was 210 or so all it does is keep the motor a bit cooler,colder means a bit mour power but i dint realy notice a diffrence when i did mine .

the stock T stat is 200 *
lower the temp increases the power & allow the computer to run more timing without detonation .

180 keeps the temps down just enough to get about 2 tenths at the strip. When they hit the 200 mark they slow up just a little. You need to reprogram the fans though in order to take advantage of the t-stat. Chips were used in the 80's. just about everything now has flash memory so you can update the tune without swapping chips.

What Chip ? Challengers have a PCM .
