Cuda Rear Louvers
« on: July 29, 2011 - 05:38:57 AM »
Hi,

Just some question about rear window louvers.
Would you drill hole in your Cuda to install these? And if you did, what is the best way to seal up the holes?
I think they look really great but I don't want to mess up my car...

What is your opinion?

I plan on installing them at some point. So yeah, I'd drill the holes. :-)

I know they have rubber gaskets that go under the hinge plates, but I'd probably put some kind of sealant on the screws just to be sure.

I used nutserts on mine.( Challenger louvers) Same thing you use to install the door mirrors. Before I installed the rivit ( nutsert I sealed the hole with permatexs gasket maker, ran some around the head of the rivit too before it was installed. After it was installed I wiped  the excess off. It also does come with a rubber gasket around the base of the hinge too.
Hope that helps?

Yes, that helps! I always have to think a couple of times before making some irreversible (well not totally but still) changes to the car. Thanks Brad and Grec!
