I have Autolite 85's in mine, gapped to .040 You don't want to go bigger than a .045 gap.

Why would you want them gapped at .035 or .040 gap or even a .045"? Thanks.

Maximize the spark as stated above , if you go more than .045 it shortens the life of wires & rotors etc

So, is it better to run a .035 or a .040? I gapped all my plugs at .035. If I pull them and change to .040, will I notice anything at all?

I doubt you would feel any difference with the extra gap unless there is other problems
