Has anyone (CP?) changed the externally regulated alternator on an E-body to a internally regulated unit? Have a 72 Challenger with Rallye dash (actually the rallye dash is a 71 unit, but that shouldnt matter - meaning no - reset knobs thru the woodgrain and no seat belt warning light). If so, how does the wiring need to be configured to include the series amp meter? Just run the alt output thru the meter and to some junction?
Maybe I'm just being dense, did the 73 & 74 have internal regulators?
End result is, I want to clean up the engine wiring. Going with a DUI dist, battery in trunk, etc. Want to try and eliminate the ECU and voltage regulator.
