heater hose question

Can the heater hose fittings be reversed?  i know this will make the flow be "reversed".  The reason i ask is because as you see in attached picture there is no room for factory hose clamp with the March brackets.  I think if i move the smaller of the two fittings to the front hole there will be enough room for the factory clamp.   I really dont want to use a worm drive clamp.   Any help.....

If it were me, I'd switch the front one to a 45 degree or a 90 degree fitting. Hydraulic repair shops should have something like those available.

OT. Lime73, is that a March pulley system on your car?

If so, how do you like it and do you have anymore pictures of the set up?

I want to run it on mine. Thanks.

P.S. I just installed my heater hose nipples today as well, and yes the stock style clamps look like they wont work either.

Put a little grease on the inner side of the hose, slide it down all the way and put the factory clamp ring on it. It fits no problem. Are you thinking the clamp has to go all the way to the bottom? It doesn't

Moparal- if i took a picture of the nipple with the hose all the way off, which i should have, you would see that the bracket goes all the way to the top of the nipple.  67 i will try to post pics of entire march setup later this evening.   I like it alot, real easy install.   Best part is i got the deal of a lifetime on EBAY a couple years back. Included all pulleys, brackets, hardware and new polished alternator a P/S pump for like $400.  Once in a lifetime........

Kinda still looks like it should work. But on a second thought...can you take a die grinder and make a notch in the bracket where needed?  It shouldn't show

Just a little to tight to get clamp in.   I would like to avoid grinding the bracket as i dont want to disturb the clear coat on the bracket.   What do you think about threading the nipple in tight and putting a pipe the size of the inside diameter of the nipple down inside and bending slowly back away from the bracket maybe adding some torch heat at the same time???   Attached are more pics of pulley setup for Vertman

Another option would be to use the new heat shrink hose clamps.  They have been around for awhile for use on large trucks but have just recently been developed for automotive applications.   It would look a lot better then a worm clamp. 

Speedway Motors sells these.

Personally, I don't see the aversion to a screw clamp; but. if you have to avoid them, what about simply getting a 1" longer piece of pipe, buffing/clearing it and using the clamp you want? OR, if you want to get artsy fartsy, get a brass pipe fitting that fits and silver solder a copper pipe in and buff it, to a lovely hue and apply desired clamp?  :2cents:

clamp is too wide to drop it over the fitting, then push the hose on while lifting the clamp up over it?

Thats what I was thinking...pull the hose off, slip the clamp on, pusht the hose on and slip the clamp onto the hose from below.

Lookslike the tight spot is the flare on the hose nipple.
