383 Stroker Build: Help Me Pick Out The Parts
« on: August 19, 2011 - 07:54:00 PM »
OK, I think I've finally decided which way I'm going with the Roadrunner.  I'm going to rebuild the original 383 with one of the large (around 500 c.i.) stroker kits, 440 Source Stealth Heads, Six Pack Setup, TTI headers.  That's what I've decided on so far.  I've already got a 4.10 Dana to go in, and plan to get one of the new 5 speed Passon transmissions.  I'm thinking hard about one of the Lunati roller hydraulic cam kits, not sure which grind yet.  I'm targeting 11 - 11.5 to 1 compression due to the aluminum heads.  I'm going to look into CNC porting the heads, and possibly some porting on the sixpack intake (got a new one just for this).  So what do you think?  I'm looking for a fairly bad ass setup as it was one of the fastest cars in town back in the day and I'd like for it to at least hold its own in the local 1/8 mile drags and the occasional street blast.  All opinions welcome.
