440-6 air cleaner lid picture please
« on: August 31, 2011 - 01:19:11 PM »
Anyone have a factory correct picture with the air filter replacement decal (little square) in the  right place?  I have seen them placed between the 440 six barrel decal and the second wingnut.  I have also seen them below the second wingnut.  Which one is correct for a 1971 440-6 'cuda non-shaker hood?

Thanks,

.,

This may not answer you question directly but. This is on from an AAR. Decal placement may be the same.

Thanks.

I am almost convinced that the air filter service decal goes between the wingnuts and that just about every other restored car is wrong.  I almost always see this decal installed below the second wingnut at car shows.  I just can't believe that people take the trouble to get the decal and don't research where it goes exactly.

The decal below the second wingnut is for cars with open hood scoops like you pointed out, AARs and T/As.

This lower decal might have forced the air filter replacement decal up between the wingnuts on open hood scoop cars.

Still not completely convinced, but almost.

Thanks for the help so far.
