Gotta move car with no floor pan, need advice
« on: September 15, 2011 - 03:27:11 PM »
Yall, it looks like my family and I will be moving back to Texas in a couple months, down to San Antonio. This has come up pretty suddenly. I have removed my floor pan already, and won't be able to put a new one in until after I move. Question I have is should I maybe brace the car somewhere before trailering it to San Antonio? I don't want it to warp or twist on me without the pan in. There is no other structural parts removed. Thanks for the help.

I would weld in as many braces as possible to stop the car from warping.

I dont think that will get you in trouble.  I would hang the doors in before transport.

:iagree:  I might also tack weld one tie across the rockers.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

Yes, weld a lot of braces in to be safe.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

At the very least I would X-brace the door openings and the floor area.
