Vapor Lock Blues

73 'cuda original 318, now 383.
    when I let it sit for 15 minutes, she starts up fine, 30-60 min, have trouble starting, assuming it's vapor lock.
    any solutions to it?
     when she has enough time to cool down, she fires right up again, but would love to stop off at coffee shop, check email, and know vehicle will be functional....

Do you have a vent tube off the tank?Do you have a vented gas cap?

Due to the poor fuel quality my guess is the fuel is boiling inside the carb & forcing liquid fuel into the carb/ intake , I recommend the Felpro 1214 intake gasket , it will block the heat cross over & keep the carb cooler .
 In the 45 min range if you hold the throttle wide open I bet it will start OK

thanks for both suggestions,
     the gas cap is pretty standard fare, so I will start there
     and I'll look into the intake gasket. Year One or someone like that have it?
     tricky trying to find Ethanol-free gas around here in ND, they want to put corn in darn near everything ;-}
    but I think I found the right scattering of good fuel places.,,
     I don;t think there is a vent tube off the tank, pretty standard set up....

      Will wrapping some kind of heat tape around the before pump fuel line that is only 1 or 2 inches from the manifold help at all? If so, what should I be asking for?

Any parts store should be able to get the intake gasket , O Riellys , Napa, Auto Zone ,etc as long as they can buy Felpro .
 the 73 had a sealed fuel system with a vapor line to the engine compartment , either engine breather or the carbon canister , that line needs to be open so air can get back into the tank as the fuel level drops , the cap will be a non vented cap , there is insulated reflective tape & pad for shielding heat & it will help but I really doubt that is causing the starting problem as there should be fuel in the carb still , Home depot will have water line insulation you can use but you will still have to wrap it with tin foil .
