71 cuda 340 stock, what aftermarket intake and carb repacement, want reliability more than performance. thanks

Welcome to the site  :woo:    From what I've been able to fathom your not going to improve much on the stock intake, blocking off the heat crossovers would help keep the charge cooler. The one aftermarket intake that has a design improvement is the Edelbrock Air Gap which aids in cooling  as well.   You will get a different answer on the carb from just about anyone who has an opinion.  If there is a brand that your familiar with I'd suggest sticking to it, if not look into Holley's Street Avenger.  I understand they are easy to tune.

I have to agree , the factory intakes were very good performers , the RPM Air Gap is an improvement but sits taller . I would look into the Proform 750 carbs
