Clutch question, diaphragm travel
« on: September 27, 2011 - 06:17:18 PM »
Ok, i bought a McLeod clutch for my 68 D100 which has an NP435 trans in it.

The shaft diameter is larger than an A833 so i am now wondering if this will work on my truck. The diaphragm fingers are within a 1/4" of the shaft and I am wondering if they will touch the shaft when I press the clutch in.

I am killing myself trying to get the trans in and now i want to make sure it won't have to come back out...

Any idea how much that inner daimeter changes when you press the clutch?

I do nto see it closing in as much as a 1/4 " , you should be fine , are the fingers contacting the release brg in the right place ?
