1971 Challenger 440-6, Clutch/Ignition Switch
« on: December 16, 2012 - 10:04:23 PM »
I'm trying to find a replacment for the Clutch/Ignition Switch that's mounted on the clutch pedal and allows voltage to route to the starter relay when the clutch is depressed. I presume that this will be OEM only and I'm not having any luck finding one....any ideas would be greatly appriciated. Thanks

Try contacting Jules the wiperman.
I'm also pretty certain Brewers has them.

On one car I made a bracket & just used a brake switch so when the pedal was full depressed it with push the brake switch , $5 instead of $200 actually I think it was the other way , the brake switch opens the circuit when the pedal is against it so it would connect as soon as the pedal was depressed , but it got us past a safety inspection  :2thumbs:

If you care about originality, they show up on ebay occasionally.

I used to search for "mopar clutch safety"

They are specific to e-bodies...

I scored one for just at $125 shipped in excellent condition.

As mentioned, Brewers also sells them.

I bought the brewers one she is a spendy doggie!! and most likely you will have to extend the wire to reach the relay going properly around the booster in the main harness pretty easy.
