The new Challenger and kids, yep, another thread.
« on: August 22, 2011 - 08:05:48 AM »
A 74 Challenger was my first car, red with a white top and white interior, Rallye.  My second car was a 74 Challenger, yellow with black top and black interior.  I sold them about 15 years or so ago to go to school and raise a family and buy a house blah blah blah.

Now, I have the itch for a Challenger real bad.  Two kids, son that is 14 and a daughter 9.  We currently have a 2006 Outback wagon and we do a lot of beach trips and camping, all that kind of stuff.  However, I have a 94 Landcruiser as well for the camping and packed up trips.

Both the kids want the Challenger and don't care about climbing in the back.  Wife remembers mine, we were dating at the time and she is all go for the Challenger too.  Yeah I know, so why you asking us, get the Challenger!

I wonder if any of your kids have gotten tired of climbing in and out of the back seat.  Size wise I think we will be fine.  And no, I don't want the charger or the magnum or the 300.

Plus, my son wants one and it will probably go to him upon graduation if he keeps his excellent grades up like they are.  He wants the newer orange color, probably the 5.7 R/T if we do.

Thanks all.

The back seats are bigger & more comfortable than teh old Chall , the downside is to save cost & use the Charger seats they only modified the passenger seat to enter the rear seat .
I have no kids so I can't really comment on getting old trying to climb in & out of the back seat

I want to go test drive some, never have driven one.  Take the kids and see how they do getting in the back and see how comfortable they are.

Just wondering if they will get tired of having to move the seat and trying to climb in the back.

Does the drivers seat on the 2011 still not fold forward?

I seem to recall they changed that in 2011 and now the driver's seat does fold forward for rear passenger egress?
I've had some normal sized adults in my back seat and they seemed comfortable.

They've addressed the accessibility problem on the 2011 and 2012 YM. In addition, the 2012 R/T and SRT8 enjoy the new suspension geometry and adjustable shocks (sport mode). I recently drove a 2012 R/T and it rides and handles way better than my '09 R/T ever did new.
