My bumper fillers on my 73 chally that fit in between the bumper and body need to be redone?  What kind of paint do you use on those?

I found this company for restoring the fan shourd, and it may work on the plastic filler on the bummper fillers.

I've got a pretty original 73 Challenger and my fillers look like they were / are textured argent silver...

I'm wondering if u will need to add flex to the paint so it does not crack..
Flex is added to the paint for the elastomeric bumpers.

What fillers are you talking about?  The front ones or the rear ones?  They are different.

The rear ones get painted with textured argent paint along with the tail panel and tail light housings.  The front fillers are NOT painted at all.  They are just the natural gray color of the rubber.

You can spend a lot of money to get the correct argent from Frank Badalson.......you can buy both the light and dark argents from Totally Auto and mix them to get close to the right color......or you can look for Krylon Fusion textured paint.  The Krylon paint comes in about 5 different colors.  There is one color that is a decent match to the original argent paint.

As far as the front fillers are concerned...if they aren't that bad, you can clean them up nicely with some very fine wet/dry sandpaper.  My front fillers cleaned up nicely without needing to be painted.

rear fillers painted with Totally Auto argent.(both light and dark mixed to get close to the right color)

front fillers wet sanded...no paint

burdar is totally correct. Looked at mine again and it is exactly as he describes... rear is argent silver, front is light gray rubber.

When my boy and I restored his 74 Challenger, We went to the local parts store and bought some spray paint for alternators and then we clear coated them when finished. That was in 07 and they still look great!!

AARuFAST is bang oon. You use ordinary body paint with a flex agent in it. there is also a special cleaner to get the old paint off (very easy to use) and a special primer to make the paint stick. Mine were done 4 years ago and are still like brand new. I also did the bumper fillers to the body and the headlight lower strips by the grille.
