Go Wing for Challenger
« on: October 20, 2011 - 09:24:06 AM »
I have located a Go Wing for my 71 Challenger; seller only has the wing and not any of the mounting legs, brackets, etc.

Are these parts readily availalbe at swap meets or from an online distributer?

Yes they are.  I had the same issue years ago.  I don't know if this vender is still on Ebay, I think it was Josh's muscle car parts.  Sold me the 2 correct height pedistals with the hardware.  Haven't installed it yet but it looks right.  Price was good and they were easi to deal with and nice people.

There are other venders out there that will sell it like I would imagine.  There's one place but the name escapes me but has the abbreviation FAP or FPA?  First place auto?  Here's their site: http://fpap.com/  I think.  The page isn't loading for me at the moment...

Also, make sure they are the correct height as Mustang pedestals will work but are a couple inches too short.

Don't forget, you'll need the brackets for under the trunk lid too for support.

Found some here too:

Not sure if this price is the best around though... $55 per leg + additional for other hardware.  Seems steep but such is the story of an e-body's resto!

Yeah, that does seem a little steep.  I don't think I paid that much.  I don't see that seller on Ebay, Josh's Muscle car parts.  I have to catch a plane so maybe when I come back I can look more.

Found this, no idea of quality or seller integrity but for the price of only 2 legs from Dantes you can get the wing AND all the other stuff:

Thanks for the link; I sent request to ebay seller asking if he has molds for the '71 (the link has a '70 style looking reproduction).

Is it possible to have a 70' cuda trunk lid (70 cutouts) Then using 70' pedestal feet onto a 71 gullwing?
Are the feet and mounting to the wing universal?

I have a 70 trunklid on my 71' car.
I didn't want to get rid of it because it was in such great condition.

:clueless:  I waas just wondering that too.  I thought the legs were the same for both the '70 and '71 wings?  :dunno:

I could be wrong... but I believe the difference between 70 and 71s is the wing itself. I think pedestals are the same.

That said, I don't know if the holes drilled for a 70 would work with a 71. ie, did the pedestals attach at the exact same distance between them year to year.

I'd have to guess yes, as being different spacing would have required different mounting plates.
