fan bolts
« on: January 24, 2012 - 10:24:17 PM »
I misplaced my 4 fan bolts.(7 blade non clutch fan) I have some bolts that are the correct size and length but they don't have any markings on the head.  I assume they are just grade 2.  The stock bolts were grade 5.  Should I be looking for some grade 5 bolts or will the grade 2 be stronge enough?  I'm guessing the factory used grade 5 for a reason.

I dunno,, there is some load happening there including the water pump, pulley, and belt. Plus those are only like 5/16" diameter bolts.

That's kinda what I thought.  I'll look harder for the original fasteners.

Those are the clutch fan bolts.  The ones I need are close to 4" long.  I thought I had found the original ones a couple months ago...now I don't know where I put them.  They have to be around somewhere.
