Very glad to here your success.
I am about to send a core out to Firm Feel to have it built after wasting $300.00 on a shop here that says they do the same work as Firm Feel. Not.
I gave them my original 60,000 mile box that was driving great except for the leaking, I figured that while i was rebuilding my front end and replacing the K-frame that i would have the box redone, very disapointed.
It's not even my original box, it won't return to center about 30 degrees from center either side and thats where the dead area starts.
It's like driving with a drunk, man I am pissed.
So now i am looking for another cop box to send out to Dick at firm feel.
Update on my box.
I take full blame for this and feel like a jerk.
So I went through the front end today checking specs and looking for center.
What I found was that the steering wheel had been installed 30 deg from center to the left. I centered it, locked the steering and then squared up the front wheels using string lines.
I adjusted the box sector shaft 3/4 of a turn in and now it all feels great and handles great.
So I should say I appoligize for ranting about the steering gear shop, and I should be upset with the alignment guy for not checking for center.
I guess I should have questioned the alignment after it took him two atemps and a two hr labour bill later.
A good lesson tho.
