Under advanced search you can list words to exclude.

Or you can just enter them with a minus sign:
1970 plymouth barracuda -lights

That comes back with 1,685 items

Never knew there was that many light listings . I search highest price first so I can at leaste see the cars . After 4 or 5 pages of brake parts I leave e bay .

They have added quite  few non mopar items over the past year or so on the search i use.
This usually loads about 6 pages for a 24hr period. Now it up to around 8.

Yeah, i remember back in 2002 how easy it was to sift through the cuda parts, but today you have to view 300 posting of the same screw kits, 20 of the same quarterpanel, etc, rinse repeat they should make them stackable and have a dates tracker on the top of the add if multiple auctions . Even direct searching ,( example Cuda Dash or Guages ) will not bring up stuff that is there if you approach differently that is probably the fault of the auction poster. :stirpot: :poopoke:

Why would they do that when it would limit their income?

I quit using Ebay, for buying and selling both, when their fee structure started getting stupid for individual private sellers and was slanting more towards volume sellers.

That's the reason I rarely go there anymore. it gets old looking through lights and cheap air intakes.

And ebay and paypal both outsource their customer service. I had a paypal issue, and while the csr's in Costa Rica technically could speak English, they never could understand my problem. Just gave up.

Now ebay even charges a fee on the final shipping prices.

There is a fee for everything.

That was a long time coming.  A lot of people running eBay stores would sell items with very low prices and high shipping costs so the item was priced properly but they avoided the majority of eBay's fees.  Obviously eBay is in this to make money and needed to close that loophole.

I agree that its difficult to sort through the searches sometimes when you get 3 pages of car covers listed by a single seller. But, there are ways to tailor your search to reduce that. You can search only in the "vintage parts" section of Motors, or check the "used" box so it doesn't show new items. And of course you can just search for a specific part. You can also add the year into your search category to set multiple criteria. For example, I use this search for my "generic" saved challenger search

(1970,1971,1972,1973,1974,1970-1974,70-74,70-71,72-74,73-74,70,71,72,73,74) (Challenger,e body)

It still returns about 8,300 items, and a dozen pages of those darned car covers. But if I just check the "used" box, it cuts it to 1,600. Or the vintage category, which puts it around 4,000. Of course, the more you tailor your search, the less likely you are to find miscategorized items.

It can be a pain, but in a lot of cases its still cheaper to find stuff that doesn't need to be purchased new. Especially if there aren't any local swap meets coming up soon.
