Hemi six pack
« on: December 07, 2011 - 10:16:31 AM »
Hi,

Has anybody used the Hemi six pack intake on their Hemis? I want to know if they are as good as I expect concerning performance, tunability and gas milage.
I also would like to know if it is possible to use the six pack shaker base plate with these intakes as far as height is concerned. I'm going to build a Hemi shaker Cuda and I have a factory six pack base plate so I want to use that, if possible. If not, I saw that FHO has a base plate for the Stage V intake, which is the other intake I'm considering.

All and any thoughts are appreciated!

Thanks!

no personal experience butit is supposed to work very well &be far better than the 2 Carter carb set up for both power & milage , again I have no personal experience but they used the similar 6 pack style filter base with the dual carters so I believe the six pack would fit fine

Are you thinking about using the Indy Modman 3x2 intake?  One concern I would have is shaker height; make sure it will clear the hood opening.  My Roadrunner has the airgrabber hood and I have to be very careful with  intake height.

Thanks for the replies and input!
I was thinking of MPs P5153738, Mancini has them. It's a dual plane which I think will be the best as I want to have a streetable car with lots of low end torque. The height is the main concern that I was thinking of as well and it would be nice to know if anyone has measured the height of these intakes + carbs compared to the stock 2x4 so that the shaker base sits at the same height.

I'm also, as I mentioned above, looking at the Stage V 2x4 intake as I have heard that it produces great power and FHO has a shaker base for it. I still have a lot of parts I need for my Hemi build so there is no rush, but it would be nice to know which route to chose when the time comes to pick an intake.

Thanks!
