Vynil top on non vynil top e body
« on: January 05, 2012 - 08:56:54 PM »
I'm seriuosly considering having a vynil top installed on my 71 Cuda.  Besides the material, what other things, such as trim, are needed?  Any modification needed?

Id like a stock/factory vynil top look

I'm curious how the trim would fasten to a car not equiped with a vinal roof?

Screw gun of course  :icon16:  Seriously though, I don't have a vinyl top
but aren't there screw on tabs for the trim to clip to?
If I cant fix it, it's broke

Thanks! So with these you drill a hole and bolt them in position? How do you get to the backside to bolt them on? Doesn't the roof structure get in the way?  :clueless:

I still have the studs on mine and before I put the new vinyl on I'm going to remove the studs and use those #146's. It will keep the mldg nice and tight rather than the old plastic clips...

I looked underneath and you will have access to put the washers and nuts on..

I'll take a couple of photos later in the day today..
