best quarter panels
« on: January 18, 2012 - 02:37:49 PM »
hey all,
just wondering what is the best quarter panels that you have found.
I am looking for either skin or full oem style, but more importantly looking for one that has correct body lines, (very crisp,) also correct edge bends, (many tend to be gentle and almost 45 degrees compaired to factory org 90 degree style, such as rear window edge and trunk opening)
any input would be appericated

I have found year one, look very cheap and not crispy bends or lines, AMD appear to look okay, Goodmark okay. i dont mind spending the money as long as they are correct and as close to orginal as possible

Thanks

AMD or Goodmark are your best choices. I don't know who makes for Y-O.
Check our sponsors for the best prices.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

Agreed .... the only other thing I will add is that some make a 3/4 height quarter panel and it joins below the top crease.   Spend the extra and go up into the roof line like the original.   I am not saying that I regret mine, but in hindsight I think it would have been wiser to go all the way into the roof area.

All the best .... CHAPS

I bought full AMD 1/4s and the lines and bends seem fine. They fit the AMD deck lid nearly perfectly along the 1/4-deck lid gap and the length. They also fit the AMD outer whlhses very well and at the door-1/4 junction, too. Nothing's perfect, but they seem pretty good so far.  There are at least a couple of dealers of AMD on this site and I can vouch for Mopar Dave at Roseville Chrysler as he treated me decently on the parts that I bought from him. :2cents:

I have AMD full quarters. They took a little massaging at the back (over the tail panel) and at the door edges (above the body line). If you take your time and pay close attention, they turn out very good. I have heard here that fit is different between Goodmark and AMD for Barracudas and Challengers quarters (Goodmark works better for Barracuda, AMD for Challenger?  :dunno:).

I used Goodmark with all new parts complete, except the sail panel.  It worked well. New outer wheel wells had to go on  different than a factory one. It had to be rotated, the large loop on the interior of the car didn't line up at all.
