520 cube engine
« on: January 19, 2012 - 09:46:51 AM »
Hey gang, I'm building another engine for my race car. I am planning on selling this engine in parts or whole.

I will be pulling it out as soon as Koffels is done with my B1 heads in a week or 2.

I can make the 520 streetable, or sell the heads, shortblock , and accessories seperate.

69 rb block with aluminum mains and girdle, 4.375 stroke with 4.30 bore.  7.1 inch rods, ross pistons.

edelbrock rpm heads with titainium retainers , shaved .055,  eddy super vic intake,  donovan gear drive, crane gold 1.5 roller rockers, fluid dampr, Milodon external oil pump system

I can change the head gaskets, cam and intake, to make a streetable 10-1 comp street engine if need be, or start selling parts.

I have a couple sets of arp head bolts, and main studs. and msd 8546 distributor,

Shortblock minus cam and gear drive and pan would be 2800. Flat tops  are .009 in the hole. Block is decked and squared up.

Eddy heads with arp head bolts would be 1200, with head studs 1300

I wonder if I just listed a 520 stroker short block fresh build with 2  1/8 mile break in passes on it, I would get more of a response.

Or eddy heads fresh built with titainum reatainers and springs to go up to 700 lift

If this motor is half the screamer the other one I bought from you is ( and sounds even healthier )
The buyer would be getting a ready to go motor with NO disappointments!

Selling either race/street how do you go wrong.

I can say anyone interested Al's great as is his work.
You would be hard pressed to buy/build anything better.

Al's a stand-up straight-up guy - I'd vouch for him and his parts any day

Even if you have a good block, start adding up machine work, parts, heck the combo is even broke in, you will spend more.

Jeff, thanks for the kind comments. You are right.  I can make this into a 600 hp street screamer easy. Just to do the block with the aluminum mains and prep work was over a grand by itself.

Seems someone wanting to build a stroker would want this short block. Or even with the heads.

Here's a picture of the engine. I will be pulling it in a couple of weeks. It will not be raced .  I have built a new bigger combo

What a wicked looking Dart my friend.
