New guy in York PA
« on: January 30, 2012 - 08:05:06 PM »
Hey guys,

Just registered here.  Back into MoPar musclelcar ownership after being away for a couple years.  While I'm not an e body owner, I certainly do like them and have several friends with e bodies.  My personal weakness is the 62-65 B body scene.  I registered here because of the great tech discussions I've read as an outsider.   Knowing we're all MoPar guys, I knew that while I don't have an e body, y'all would be cool with me hanging around.

Here's a pic of my ride.  Long story short; I did a total resto job on it finishing up in '01 then sold it (like an idiot).  In October of last year the same guy called me up and said "I want you to buy your car back".  I had to agree with him.

Thanks for the comments.

The car's a '65 Belvedere II that was originally a 318 car.  It's now a 383 w/ 3.91 rear.

When we did the car we used the mopar kit to move the rear springs in approx 3.5" per side.  I had a set of custom rear wheels built using 10" wide hoops with early Chrysler centers.  The trans has a 3,000 stall converter & cheetah valve body.  It's got discs brakes up front.  We had every single piece off the car back then except for the front & back glass, dash, & headliner.

The resto on the car held up really, really well over the last ten years. Body & paint are outstanding. It can use a little interior work like a instrument cluster re-chrome & a headliner, but those are things that I didn't need to restore the first time around so it's not like I have to do the same jobs over.

He really didn't change anything on the car during the time he had it. He needed to do mufflers & carb, but other than that, it's exactly the way it left me in 2001 right down to my vintage Ramchargers sticker in the window.  He ran it approx 4,000 miles during the past 10 years.  Pretty cool.

Here are a few more pics.  The first one is from back then, the rest are now.

  Welcome to the forum.  Man your car brings back high school memories.  My friend's dad had a 65 plymouth fury.  Black with a red interior, I think it had a red stripe on the side.  It had a push button trans with a 318.  We had fun smokin the tires in the school parking lot!

Welcome! Man that has to be a great feeling getting that ride back! First Mopar I ever took a ride in was a 64 Belvedere, put me back in the seat so hard I thought my neck would snap   :burnout:
