The new cars look cool, IMO but check out the video, moreso when they interview the Mopar historian.  He talks about the '55 300C, Daytona Charger, Lil Express Truck.  Cool history and nice cars.

1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

So its kind of disappointing that Mopar's "Manager of Marketing" and purported expert historian doesn't have a clue what he's talking about.  At 7:10 he says they made 500 Plymouth Superbirds, nope, built almost 3000 total (there is some dispute here as Chrysler played games getting them homologated for Nascar, but the 500 mark was so they could go racing not an actual number built.  I don't mean to be picky but the second he said that he lost all credibility with me.  I could know everything he talks about in the video by reading a few period magazines..... sad.

Actually in 1970 the requirement numbers were one per dealership. Prior to that it was 500. The 500 applied to the Daytona.

Interesting, I've heard it applied to both, but I was only 10 when all this was happening so like most of this I read about this, too.  My point was that he clearly says 500 of each were built which most any true "Moparian" (Dumb word, theirs not mine) knows isn't correct.  My point still stands, I have many friends with deeper knowledge of the history of the Chrysler brand than this guy.  Don't know why it bothered me so much really, certainly not the first time someone rose through the management ranks based on something other than knowledge about a brand.
