65 Cuda owner says howdy

Howdy gents.  First post here (obviously).  I have taken over the care-taking of my brother's 1965 Cuda to get it back to "drive-able" status.  I've been around the block a bit with first-gen Mustangs and Firebirds (pausing for derision) so I'm not totally new to this game.

I've never wrenched on a Mopar.  This Cuda is a 318, 3-speed auto and appears to be stock in every way except the motor itself.  Legend has it that the original owner (this is the 2nd owner) blew the 273 but that cannot be verified as the PO has passed away.

So I guess my first stupid question is: is this the right forum for a first-gen Cuda?  I am hoping so.  If anybody cares, my first questions are about the following:

* Identifying the Carter "0-1676" 2bbl carb on this non-stock 318 to get a rebuild kit
* Finding out the best place(s) to get repops of stuff, in my case a battery tray.

I'm sure I'll have a bunch more questions as I go along, but wanted a sanity check if I'm in the right place.

Thanks!
Tom

Welcome Tom, Good looking car.  Not a lot of early a-bodies on this forum although I'm sure some of the guys have knowledge of them. You might find more info on www.forabodiesonly.com/

Good luck & share your progress with us.

Hey thanks for the super-quick reply.   I had no idea they called these "A Bodies".  I learn something new every dang day.

I'll go register for that forum and see if I can get some orientation.   Thanks again.
