Hanging shocks

When you buy new shocks they are tied with a ty-wrap or wire to prevent them from expanding to full length.  When I have the rear out of my car for the next three or four weeks, is there anything wrong with letting the shocks hang there? Or should I remove them and tie them up so they don't fully expand?  :dunno: Will it hurt the shock seals or whatever?  :dunno:

I believe the wire is to allow for smaller shipping sizes, rather than to help the seals out. I wouldn't worry about it myself.
