original spare tire - photos
« on: February 22, 2012 - 04:12:44 AM »
I decided to finally take some pictures of my factory spare tire.  I have kept it indoors for over 35 years.

The blue protective soap is still visible on the raised white letters.  Also the rubber nubs are all over the tread and sidewalls.

This tire hasn't been washed in over 3 decades and I know that it would clean up real good.

i used a quarter to show tread depth...notice the rubber nubs

Wow!  Very cool to see!

Not sure if mine is original, the rim I would think is original, the tire I'm not sure but it is a bias ply tire but not new like yours.  I think mine is either blackwall or white wall as my Challenger Rallye originally came with steel wheels and hubcaps.
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.
