The R/T SE thread

I have a friend I've known for over 20 years that has an RT/SE. He got the car for practically nothing from a teenage kid about 20 years ago. Now he has some health issues and is wanting to sell it. I know I could get it for 12-14K as we've already discussed price. It's all original except for the engine. I would really like to have it but don't have the funds. I am trying to think of what I could sell to get it. There's always room for another Mopar!

Matt, have any more info on this?  I used to have a RT/SE that I sold as a teenager 20+ years ago.  Wonder if your buddy has my old car.  Mine was JS29NOE1276xx.  Plum Crazy, 383, auto.

I posted this question in the body shop thread but had no luck. Hoping that one of the SE owners know the answer.

 I'm presently restoring a 1970 Challenger RT/SE and need some help on the vinyl roof installation. I need help on installing the vinyl material over the rear window insert of the SE model. With the insert installed the surface of the insert is not even with the roof surface, it is lower by about 1/8" and there is a 1/4 inch gap around the insert. Obviously all of these fitment irregularities would look terrible if not corrected prior to installing the vinyl top.

Can anyone help me with what is the correct method/procedure in installing the vinyl material over the SE rear window insert? I have used the search function with negative results. Thanks in advance !

Use an 1/8" thick sheet of closed cell foam to make up the height difference, closed cell so it does not hold water.
