cool tach?
« on: February 18, 2012 - 08:43:27 PM »
I have standard gauges in my 70 challenger, can't quite bring myself to spend 200 bucks on one that will fit in my cluster, but i'm looking for a period correct look..any ideas? What about an old "knee knocker" tach avail from the dealerships back in the day..extreme accuracy is not a high concern, i'll be hiding a shift light under the dash just causei'll prolly have the 340 windin at the track this summer

You mean like an old school tach?  Woulld you strap on the column or try to hide it a little under the dash?  Harder to see down low...not sure what the "Knee Knocker" is...

1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

SW gauges are correct, and the column on pre.70's or under the gauge visor (or overhang) on e's. (check my pictures)
The tach on the Nash Bridges TV show YellowVert.cuda had the SW in the only spot I could figure, hanging from a center trim screw.
