Welcome aboard! What is this Monaco 500 ornament option? I want one, as one of my doggies is named Monaco.

A57 was the fender tag code for the Monaco 500 option, but that was only for the Monaco line and I think it was dropped in 71?

On a challenger that same code was using in 73/74 for the Rallye package which consisted of the sport good, black grille, side stripes, suspension upgrade, instrument cluster, simulated side louvers and F70 x 14" WSW tires.

It was also used for the Charger's Rallye package but I am not sure what years

Oh. I was hoping it was a chrome hood ornament of a pointing Golden Retriever with a lighted plastic duck in it's mouth or something classy like that. Darn it.

All of it will probably be ruined by the paint :)  I should just quit now and clear it!!!

Just out of the booth and into the 'dirty' shop...This is a $1600 paint job using Glasurit 22 paint.  I had to do most of the blocking and the painter did the rest (final bodywork/prep/paint).

sweet :2thumbs: What colour side stripe are you gonna go with? Or are you having one at all? Are you leaving the tail red? or black or argent?

The side stripe is on it's way and it's flat black.  I think that will offset all the red/orange :)  (It's supposed to be a bit orange but its not really).

And for the back, I know Challengers have offset colour, but I only plan to highlight the 'DODGE' lettering.  Same with the 340 lettering.  It's not really correct but I like the one colour car.  Also I don't like trying to explain to everyone why the back is not painted body colour :)

Now, I need bigger wheels!  Will new Charger/Challenger 17" wheels fit??  I really like them.  Or the Police black 18" rims?  :)

Paint looks great!!!!  :2thumbs:

As far as the new rims go, it's splitting heairs as far as the bolt pattern goes.  Ours are 114.3mm vs the newer cars at 115mm.  Some say it stresses the studs, I dunno....  :dunno:
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.
