74 challenger engine harness which one
« on: April 05, 2012 - 09:10:06 PM »
Im confused :clueless:My fender tag says 831 on 5th row 4th set of numbers. This would mean August 31 so my car also has the seatbelt interlock box under the driverside dash-2 plugs. So what engine harness do i need. What is different on the harness.I know the headlight harness has a plug for another relay for the seatbelt. But the engine harness has nothing to do with that or does it.

I would think that the seat belt interlock system would be part of the headlight harness.  The engine harness should go from the bulkhead connector, over the the passengers side and accross the engine.  How are the harnesses listed online?  Do they list more than one?

found out Dodge ran 2 wires in the engine harness to stop the car from starting if your seatbelts are not on,that is do to the  74 seatbelt interlock system.

If you need a new harness you will need a 74 specific harness or your  car won't start I just got a engine harness from roseville for my 73 challenger was good quality and matched right up to the old one I have an extra plug on the new harness and I believe this is for the  seatbelts try given them a call  they should be able to get you what you need no problem
