What do I have here?
« on: February 23, 2012 - 06:38:55 PM »
I am reassembling my 73 challenger and I'm up to the parking lamps. These are the ones I took off 7 years ago when I was disassembling the car. You can see in the picture when I first got the car that they were mounted and everything. But they look nothing like the normal parking lamps I see on challengers. Also, at the front of the car I have wires hanging down with an amber bulb on them looking like they are the parking lights, yet these have a connector on them that doesn't match any other connector up front  :clueless:...and like I say, its been 7 years so I can't remember if the things were plugged up anyway or what.  So, my question is, does anybody recognize these, and can I use them, since that is what I have to work with right now?  I would just have to remember how they mounted and figure a way to wire them up

It looks like the proper front valance park/signal light housing to me. The two short legs are attached with two screws through the bottom of the front valance and the top attaches to a tab above the hole in the valance for the light housing. Not sure about the first pic. You need two amber lenses for the housings. The amber bulb would be for those housings. The connector you show is the correct one for the front turn/park lights.
Hope this helps

But the thing is I have the amber bulb on the car already plugged up and have those lights with that connector???? Wish I could remember. And the lense looks like a reflector with the bulbs behind it, which is nothing like theregular lenses I have seen and am also needing the silver bezel?

The amber lenses and silver bezel are all one piece of plastic. The housing with the reflector has been modded by someone that didn't want to buy the correct lenses I guess?
