70 Challenger VIn
« on: March 06, 2012 - 04:48:05 PM »
I recently came across a 70 challenger that has a dash VIn but no fender tag and the reamining areas the cowl, rear left of trunk, rad support area are rusted out. the car looks like it has been in the bottom of a salt mine for the last 40 years. it does have a great front rear bumpers and glass, k member, rear axle, seats he is asking $700 is it worth it. I am looking for parts for another 70 that i bought in colorado. What are your thoughts.
Thanks

Are you saying that you want to move a VIN from one car to another? If so, that's illegal.

Yes I ave VIN for car I can get title through state. I am NOT swapping VINs I have more than 1 70 E body. The two without VINS are PARTS CARS. I was just curious if you could get a VIN for them.
Thanks

It varies by state. I saw your other post, and I'm not sure about Michigan, but when I was there I thought it was possible to get a state-issued VIN if the original tag was lost.

Why would you need a VIN for a parts car?  By definition you are never going to drive it....I guess maybe you'd need one to insure it but I would think it would need to have a ton of valuable parts to make that worth doing?

Looks worth it to me.

I would be glad to make up some of that money you spend on the car for whatever red interior parts you have there.

PM sent.
