Contents of the glove box when new
« on: March 06, 2012 - 05:15:36 PM »
I am setting up my AAR 'Cuda for shows, what would have normally been in the glove box when it was delivered new, like the owner's manual, warranty book, radio instruction card, tire brochure, etc.?  I am not having any luck finding a warranty book or finding any items except the owner's manual.  Thanks for any help.

Not sure this will help but this is what came in my 1974's, as I am not the original owner I can't speak for all of these being original, but they seem period

Everything was enclosed in this 2 pocket envelope:

There were 2 warranty cards.  One of mine was filled out by the original owner/dealer.  The other is blank.

A goodyear tire warranty card

Here's the inside (still blank)

Ad for Chrysler marine products

Change of owner card (I have 2 blank)

Your Chrysler man in Detroit

A stopping distance document

The Mopar Action Accents brochure

I'm just happy all that stuff came with it. I'm a big fan of numbers and documents.   :cool dancing:
I think I've picked up every sales brochure and dealer book for the 1974 challenger :)

Nice stuff, Jamiez!!!  :grinyes:

Here's a couple of things, some already shown, how about the car invoice at sale time?  Application for title?  How about a brochure or facts book for your car?

Fun thing to note: my car is a 1972 Challenger Rallye but the Consumer Information sheet says, "Challenger R/T".  :icon16: I have R/T envy!  :-[

Right, that's what I'm talkin' 'bout!  Having been involved in Corvettes and Shelbys for years, their judging manuals always had the minimum things that should be in the glove box envelope.  Guess Mopar doesn't do that, but these help, I'll have to look on fleaBay more often for them.  Thanks.

There was also something, I have it squirreled away somewhere, called a dealer option pocket book or something?  It's small, fits in the breast pocket of a shirt and basically listed the models of Dodges and the options you could pick.  It was more for the salesmen of that dealership so they knew what car came with what options.

How about dealership literature or business cards, like from Grand Spaulding Dodge or some other dealership?  Have the salesman's name signed on the card.

Found a pic of what I have on Barry Washington's site: http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/dealerships/1972SalesmansPocketGuidesDodge-01.shtml

Check out the Plymouth links for 1970: http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/library.shtml

Here's the Plymouth pocket guide.  Weird, I don't see mention of any 340 6 barrel engine on any pics at the link for 1970?  :clueless:

Dealerships were supposed to receive something like this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1974-Dodge-Dealer-Announcement-Album-/370210243049?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item56324001e9
Which detailed the signage/displays/clothes/programs etc for each model year.

But I don't think any of that went with the car standard, some dealers might have thrown in small items (matchbooks, keyrings, etc) but I don't believe it was an across the board thing.

I bet this book came out at the beginning of the model year, before they had all the plans for the AAR since it was only about a 5 week run of cars, it was too small to list here maybe, or not known at the time of publication.
