software wanted for vinyl albums
« on: February 28, 2012 - 04:30:52 AM »
I have 50 or so vinyl albums from the early to mid 70's.  I want to take each album and log it into some type of software program that will allow me to easily alphabetize them.  Does anyone know of any such software?

You can purchase a phono pre amp that has a usb hub that will attach directly to your computer.  About $100.

Sounds like you're talking about databasing them instead of digitizing them. If that's the case, Microsoft Excel or Access can easily do that for you.

If you're talking about taking LP's and digitizing them I used DAK software for that - lots of capabilities.

That's what i want to do.  Like an address book, have all my albums listed by artist or album name or even by year.  I was thinking of using an excel spreadsheet but wanted something more detailed, but i guess i can create what i want.  thanks!

Sounds like you have a nice selection of albums.  Maybe make a photobucket page or something like that to display them, listing info about the album like the songs, when it was made?  :dunno:

I just used Excel for my 110 albums and listed them by artist/band. After doing an alphanumeric sort they were put in the cabinet in that order. I found it good enough.

I guess you're not on a Mac? There's a nice software for stuff like this on the Mac, Delicious Library:
