1971 ebody Lower control arm bushing questions

'71 ebod lower control arm bushing question:

First, some history'   I had a a ot of front end wander going downthe road.  It got really bad at about 55 mph up............Some of it was onviuosly due to play n the streeing box............I dont beoeive the fornt end had any work done to it since the factory..............

So I changed out every ball joint, bushing, pitman arm, even new sway bars:   EXCEPT for the lower control arm bushings:   I got lazy at this point

But I still had about %50 of the original wander left.   I finally found out from having the local alignment shop take a look:  Talk about a bunch of play in the lower control arms!

I removed the lower control arms:  And what a mess in the bushings.....   The lower control arm was shaft way off center, (tilted and loose), and the bushing itself was shot

Here's my questions:

1. For the life of me, I cant tell how the lower control arm shaft presses out of the lower conrtol arm bushing.  Even though I can wiggle the shaft, I cant even get it to begin to budge by attempting to hammer it out of the lower conrtol arm bushing.  So this is my first question:   How does one get it out of the bushing?

2. Now the lower control arm bushing:  How does one press it out/which way out of the lower control arm? (I'm thinking rear to front):  Even then, I cant even see where the bushing and its shell seperates from lower control arm itself

There are tools available for the task http://www.americanmuscle.biz/Suspension_Tools_s/1.htm

I clamped the shaft in a bench vise, soaked with penetrating lubricant & worked the LCA back and forth, I think I wedged a pry bar in there to encourage it as well....took quite a while but it eventually slid off.
If your using polyurethane bushings you do not remove the shell but gut it, I managed to do this with a U-joint removal tool and some sockets that fit inside. If using OE style rubber bushings that come in a new shell most folks recommend cutting the old shell or you could get the tool from the link above. http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=73687.msg749494#msg749494

I went with Poly bushing when I replaced mine so I left in the shell . So I just heated up the bushing till the pin slid out and the rubber bushings just pried out as well. Easy as pie.  To install I pushed in the poly bushings then used a hard plastic hammer to install the pins. I used firm feels greaseable pins.
