1971 E body: Removing lower control arms
« on: March 30, 2012 - 11:31:52 AM »
I let someone borrow my shop manual   :clueless:

I need to remove both lower control arms on my 71 E body:   If someone could tell me just briefly  (I have taken apart, put together the front suspension on 2-3 e bodies already), the minimum steps to remove them:   I just rebuilt the darn front suspension and I'd hate to remove any more parts than is absolutely required

Back out the height adjusters on the lower control arm.  Disconnect the sway bar if you have one.  Take the nut off the strut rod so the strut rod is no longer tied to the control arm.  Separate  the lower control arm from the spindle at the ball joint.  Remove C-clip and slide out the torsion bar.  Slide the lower control arm out.
