Window Track Nylon Bushing Questions
« on: April 06, 2012 - 11:36:02 PM »
I cleaned up all my window tracks for my car using Evaporust.
Everything came out looking almost like they're new.

Had a bunch of crud in them. Now that they're clean, I need some advice.

The picture shows 2 nylon slider bushings.
There is a ball stud retaining them. The ball studs are rivited on it appears.
One of the small slider bushings is missing.

Question:
How do I take these nylon bushing sliders off and replace them?
Are there replacements for these?
Tell me how to R & R these. Thanks.

Mike, Fremont, CA.

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

So should I just throw it out? Get another with the bushings?
Try to epoxy one by cutting a good one in half?
Or grind off the rivet and do a transplant from a donor?

Not sure how to R&R. I think that TY specialties had these, but I've never once had him return a phone call or an e-mail.

OK Figured it out.
Except on putting them back on.

Go to this page for pictures and p/n's:
http://www.jimsautoparts.com/glass_and_%20window_parts.htm

Enter in the p/n but delete CP letters
http://www.rtspecialties.net/proddetail.asp?prod=0713545

Order from R/T Specialties not Jim's.

I can't remember if the window "kits" come with these or not. The guys that were at the ohlone (mopar alley) show last year had them I think. Dales cuda shop or Rt specialties? They had that big display in the swap meet section.
70 Cuda, 7.0L Gen-III Hemi, Viper T56 w/9310 gearset, 3.91's, Megasquirt MS3x v3.57, Innovate wideband, Firm Feel upper arms, torsion bars, springs and strut rods, QA1 DA shocks. I did everything on this car except the fancy paint stuff and I drive it...and I can't seem to stop messing with it....
