Photobucket or video question
« on: April 04, 2012 - 09:59:44 PM »
I have a video that I saved and edited with windows live media player.  This made the format a      'wlmp'   and photobucket does not find it in my video folder.
So, I can see it when I go into my own computer folders but not when I do photobucket.
I don't know how to transfer the video onto the site.

Can someone help me get this video on here.

Ok, so I can down load the original uncut video to photo bucket.
However, when I paste it here, the link takes you to my entire photobucket account.
How do I stop that?

Among your link options on photobucket, is there an IMG SRC option?

In the video program you use, you should be able to select a different format to save to.

Maybe to .flv, .avi or .mp4 ??? (all recognised by Photobucket)

Windows live movie maker.

Won't let me save to anything but it's own name.

That is the movie maker.

The original is in my windows photo gallery.   It will save to photobucket, but I can't edit it through photobucket.

Also, when I past the img code here for the uncut video, it will let anybody into my photo bucket.  How do I stop that.

Download a program called winFF
I've used it for years.
It can convert your windows movie maker vid to any video format you like

This is an audio conversion in the vid, but the same applies to all conversions within the winFF program

Let me know if you still get stuck.

So, I can get the movie I made on the winff conversion chart.
When I try to convert it, it tells me that it cannot find the codec perimeters and then will not convert.
No matter which way I try, it won't let me convert.
I used a very common movie maker program.  Windows movie maker.

Can you tell me what format I should be trying to convert to?

My apologies, I am not very computer savvy.  Mostly because I have not spent time to learn things like this.
I do appreciate the help.

Drag your movie into winFF and see if you can at least convert it to an avi for now

I can't help too much as I have never even heard of the program. I'm a Mac user.

However it's nothing a bit of Google-Fu can't fix.

The file format you have - .wlmp - is not a movie format, it's simply a project file for that program. It allows you to re-open that project with all your cuts & edits in place so you can continue to make changes. It also means you can't use a converter to convert it to another video format.

Is the program called Windows Live Movie Maker?

This will help:

If that's not the program, just jump on Google & YouTube and search "how to make an avi with ... " and insert your programs name and version number. There will be thousands of posts from people in the same situation, and 99.9% of the time someone will have made an instructional video and uploaded it to YouTube.

Just be sure to check the dates of the search results, as it can quite easily bring up a post from 5 years ago, and the program you;re using may have changed since then.

Once you do that, keep doing it. I mess around with video & photography a bit, and when using my programs, if I get stumped, Google & YouTube are the first places a hit. As I said, someone has always had the problem before you, and someone has always shown a solution. Very cool, and very easy.

Best of luck!  :2thumbs:

I use Win movie maker. Video can only be a certain size on win movie maker. and for photobucket.
Open win movie maker and in the left bottom HOW TO Capture?

Click on .wmv.  Save to video file on computer, name video, (example Car). or Finish Movie> save to my computer. not mine urs. hehe,
open Photobucket, click on download, create new album, name album url( example photobucket/mycar), bottom of window, this keeps your albums separated. download from ur computer video file Car.

Russ,
Thanks, I got it figured out with that.
Yes, Windows live movie maker. I understand now what was going on.
User error as usual.  Everything is there if you just look hard enough.

AAR, I will try the Win some time.
The only thing I do not like about the photobucket video is that I can see everything on your photobucket account.
Any idea on how to make it only show the video I want showed and nothing else?
