with my rallye gauges out of commision, only the amp gauge works (stupid things...) i decided i needed to know if my newly rebuilt and running engine was overheating, especially since i dont have a fan shroud.
so this was my solution. a gauge i already had (mechanical) and a $5 gauge holder, 2 screws, and two strips of red teflon about 1/8" thick.
a strip of teflon sits between the gauge holder and the hood, to prevent metal/metal contact and messing up the paint. the strip has two pilot holes drilled through it, and another strip under the hood, with small pilot wholes drilled in it. the two screws run through the gauge holder, the first strip, and grip into the strip under the hood sandwiching everything together in an easy to remove with no damage setup.
not sure if ill get flamed for the hood install... but i thought it was cool and easy to install.
