TTI Headers and Dynomax Stainless Exhaust?
« on: April 13, 2012 - 12:31:54 PM »
Thinking of doing an exhaust upgrade on my 71 Cuda 340 4-speed and was leaning towards TTI ceramic Headers and a Dynamax 2 1/2in Stainless exhaust system from the headers back?
Car just has stock manifolds now and I really like the header sound! Have an Engle K58 Hyd cam that recently I put in so might help with performance as well?
Just wondering if anyone is using / has installed TTI headers and Dynamax exhaust on their 340 Cuda? My question is how did the headers / system fit as I don't want to have to bend header pipes with a hammer to get it to fit  :stomp:.
Thanks
"Tim"

I am using the TTI headers (with the works done to them) and Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers on a 1970 Cuda 340 stroker.  The headers fell in but I must tell you that when I installed them, I was doing an auto trans to Keisler 5-speed conversion.  With the bellhousing off, the headers slipped right in from the bottom.  Would they go in if I were just putting the headers on with trans in place?  Probably, but it would be a little tight on the drivers side.  Also, I used a mini starter from Mancini racing.  I would definitely go with TTI again.  Top quality product.

Let me tell you, it sounds incredible.  Good luck.

I have TTi from the headers to my exhaust tips on my 1971 'Cuda 440-6.  Fit was great!  No problems at all.  I think that you will find nothing but praise for TTi.  You will hear a little grumbling about how much they cost but they fit good, look, and sound great.  You will not be disappointed.

Makes my heart throb and wallet wheeze at the same time.  :grinyes:  Question:, does the SS exhaust bolt together, or weld?.

 Oh and  :useless:

I'm not positive but I think the Dynamax SS system is actually bolt together? I was just going to get the system put on an at a muffler shop here in town as make it much easier for me. The Dynamax system is will look great as it's stainless but another site member mentioned that the TTI exhaust system from headers back is pretty too but I don't think the TTI exhaust system is actually stainless?

TTi' s are the best, did them in my BB challenger, and my brothers 340 duster, no problems, nuthin!!! perfect!! nut and bolt design, no welding, Its an aluminized coating on the exhaust, not stainless, if you want a better sound and flow, get the dynomax welded mufflers, strait thru design, better sound.

I may be having a change of mind on my exhaust. I'm still definitely still going with TTI headers but now thinking about getting the entire exhaust system from TTI as opposed to the Magnaflow Stainless Steel system.
Reason being that what I'm really looking for is that very destinctive ........tinny.....hollow.....ticking sound....at idle as I just love that exhaust note. I have heard a few cars idle via youtube.....Etc...and I think maybe the TTI exhaust system has a bit more of that sound that I'm looking for :ylsuper:
I'm running an Engle K58 Hyd cam.
TTI not stainless but I'm sure will still look great.
