Well, I was pretty sure about this too but then i saw this window sticker for a 71 challenger and it has a B51 AND a B41 option. Mine has only the B51, whats the difference :clueless:

The B51 means power brakes ONLY, (read power front drum brakes). If you had front disc brakes, the code was B41. And yes, you could have power brakes with front drum brakes. Bottom line, if the only code you have on your fender tag is B51, the car was born with front drum brakes, but with power assist. It was possible to order a car with no power brakes (with front drum brakes only),  but if you had front disc brakes, power brakes came with it. Hope that nelps.

Thats what I was suspecting since I was missing the 41 code, also the front discs (and all things that go with them) looks fairly fresh compared to the rest of the car. Thanks

I did some more digging on this and it seems that if a 1970 B or E-body was ordered with an A33 axle package, the only brake option code on the FT would be B51 for power assist and it could have either front drums or discs depending on which code it had on the build sheet. Code 082 for drums and 083 discs :cooldancing:
