Aftermarket tach
« on: April 25, 2012 - 07:07:25 AM »

since my challenger has the standard cluster, I have no tach.
Can some one post some aftermarket tachs mounted somewhere inside the car.
I'm looking for the best place to mount a tach that wont block the other gauges.

I've seen people mount them of the right side of the steering column, about 45 degrees from horizontal and vertical.

Ever consider a hood mounted tach. http://www.mfsperformance.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=5&zenid=9cgv0q8sajjdlq26us8loulq02

Just my opinion but I don`t care for the big round tach mounted inside the car. As i`m sure others don`t care for the hood mounted type to each there own I guess. I`m just not sure how one would look on my AAR hood.

Just wanted to show you another option you may have not thought of.

Yea, I read about the hood tach on another tread.  I never seen one on an e-body and am not sure if it will out of place.  I'm not against it, just not sure how it would be accepted by the mopar gods!

Yeah I sort of feel the same way I would want to see one in person first, or at least a few pics. It`s not high on my to do list anyway and I would put the $225 for a hood mount tach to better use somewhere else on my car.

It's a digital Autometer tach with shift light.  Easy to read.  I can get better pics if you need them, I seem to have lost a bunch on my imageshack acct.
