Special tool for Ign. switch
« on: March 26, 2006 - 02:34:14 PM »
I need to change my ignition switch on my '73 challenger, and I need a special tool
to remove the lock plate. The tool is called steering shaft to lock plate pin tool
#C-4113. Anybody know where I can get one or any other ideas on how to remove
the lock plate? Thanks.

I'm not sure about the tool, I just supported the end of the shaft and used a punch to knock the pin out.

Yea, I thought about driving it out with a pin punch, but the service manual recommends
the "special tool". I'll probley do as you said, but I'll see if i can find the tool and get it if it doesn't
cost much. I like buying new tools!
