I would strongly recommend you lead the seams together when you get to that point.

Another subject is: Spot Weld cutters.
I used the ones at Harbor freight. Yeah, they're cheap alright but they do work good.
You can even reverse the blade to a new one once the first side wears out.
Some say to use panel adhesive like what new cars are doing at body shops nowadays.
I'm sure it works good, but I also hear you have a time limitation to work with before the adhesive starts to set up. Never done it that way before so I can't say how great or not it is to use. I hear it's strong stuff.
